CIT have informed us that the track will be closed during Level 5 restrictions. There will be no Club organised training during level 5 restrictions. As the restrictions are eased we will review the situation and communicate the club’s proposed training schedule through WhatsApp, The Belgooly AC website and this facebook page. Below are a few memories of Nenagh 2020. Please stay Healthy and stay safe till we can meet up again.
Belgooly AC Fundraisers
Unfortunately due to Covid-19 we are unable to hold our Annual Belgooly AC table quiz in November or the Belgooly AC 4 mile Road race on St. Stephen’s Day. In lieu of this we will have a club raffle on the last day of training on the 17th December. Tickets cost €2 a strip or €5 for 3 strips. Tickets are on sale at training from Thursday 3rd Dec from Kiann Falvey
Tickets were sold at training over the last few nights as fundraising for the club. The winning tickets were drawn on Thursday 17th and the winners are April & James O’Carroll, Tara Neville, Chris Harrington, John Slattery. Congratulations to the winners.
Wishing you all a safe & healthy Christmas and hope to see you back at training on Tuesday 12th January. Any change in this date or social conditions as advised by the Government will be advertised on this page and our website.
Dick Copithorne 4 mile race 2020
It is with regret that the board of Belgooly AC have had to cancel our annual 4 mile road race on St Stephen’s Day due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic. This has been a popular and well supported event on the Cork Christmas sports calendar for a long number of years and it is disappointing that it has had to join the long list of cancelled events this year. Along with being the clubs only road race it has also been a significant funding stream for our charity partners The Bowel Cancer Unit in the Cork University Hospital. As many charities have seen a major cut to their funding this year the club has taken the decision to make a €500 donation from club funds to the Bowel Cancer Unit in the Cork University Hospital. The club will not be holding a virtual race but we would like to encourage our regular supporters to go for a run/jog/walk on St Stephen’s Day to keep up the tradition and if they can do so to make a donation directly to the Bowel Cancer Unit in the Cork University Hospital in recognition of the fantastic work they do for all those people who require their services.
The club would like to take this opportunity to wish all current and past supporters of our race a very happy, peaceful and safe Christmas and we all look forward to a brighter and covid free 2021
Saturdays training at 11.30 to 1pm is still ok as during daylight hours. Numbers for training are limited due to Level 5 Covid restrictions.
Keep informed at the HSE website and stay safe in these trying times
